I was raised in a single-parent household — short on finances, but I never went a day without eating, clean clothes, or a roof over my head. After high school I started hanging out with what I’d now call “the wrong crowd,” got involved in drugs and crime, and eventually in the prison life. After years of that struggling lifestyle, and a move from San Diego, California to Portland, Oregon, I ran into a ministry called Victory Outreach. It was then that I made a decision to enter their faith-based recovery home, the Victory Home — and it was there that my life turned around. I haven’t been the same since.
It’s been over 35 years now. I became a licensed minister with the Victory Outreach ministry. I’m retired from work, I have three kids, I’m a homeowner and a faithful taxpayer. Today I am the Assistant Pastor of Victory Outreach Portland — working with people and seeing lives changed.
